Malik James was born in Oceanside, California while his father, Sly James was in the Marine Corps. Malik grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Bishop Miege High School.
Malik followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps. During his four years of service, he was meritoriously recognized and promoted numerous times and earned the rank of Sergeant in less than three years of service.
After a tour in Iraq, Malik was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a platoon sergeant.
Malik graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City’s School of Law where he was awarded Top Oralist his first year, was a member of the Mock Trial Team and participated in Moot Court.
Malik continues to follow in his father’s footsteps and looks to grow his law practice by focusing on personal injury, employment discrimination and DUIs. He is passionate about veteran’s rights, minority rights and helping the under-represented.
